1) What is the French Cupboard?
The French Cupboard is a community for both buying and selling, created on the premise that lovley given will be lovley received. It is the sister site of the Friday Flea Market and was born out the requests of members seeking an environment for artists to sell their creations as well as new and vintage items that didn't necessarily fit in the flea market category. The staff & members of the French Cupboard work as a team to create some great marketing & promotional tools such as advertising in national magazines (see the magazines we are currently advertising with) , an inspirational network, a Members-Only forum & more (see the member benefits in more detail).
2) Do I have to Sell French Items?
No. You are welcome to sell any new or vintage items, as well as handmade or digital creations that you are legally able to sell (your own items or those that you retail with permission). You may not sell items that may result in copyright infringement or items that you have purchased from another French Cupboard member.
3) Do I Need to Have a Website to join?
No. We will link to whatever selling site you currently have. If you do not have a selling site, we can help you create a free website (see example). You are welcome to sell from your blog, your Etsy shop, your Ebay shop, your Lollishop (click for examples), or whatever selling site you use. (click the links to see examples) If you are interested purchasing templates or banners for your website, French Cupboard members are entitled to 10% off of any premade ooak website or banner design offered at Painted White.
4) Does the list of boutiques rotate?
Every Monday the top 5 boutiques are moved to the bottom of the list and the everyone slides up 5 slots. This weekly rotation promotes maximum exposure for everyone.
5) Do I have to pay for my Membership all at Once?
We are pleased to offer two payment options for both the 6 and 12 month memberships. (see payment options)
6) Are there Listing Fees or Sale Percentages in addition to membership fees?
No. Your membership fees are the only fees involved.
7) How Do I get a Featured Boutique Spot?
All 6 and 12 month members get a free week in one of the two Featured Boutique spots - rotating weekly. You have additional options to purchase
sidebar space on the French Cupboard website ~ Sidebar ads appear on every page of the website.
8) Can I purchase additional Advertising?
9) Do Member Benefits vary depending on the level of Membership?

11) Are my items searchable from the French Cupboard site?
Technically, no ~ but we have created a simple workaround. All the photos in the Ning photo pool are searchable so we have redirected our search feature to the photo pool. When you load your photos to the photo pool, give them a title and include your business name in the title (separated by spaces) That way all the photos are search able by title or business name. We also have an alphabetical Member Index on our search page that allows buyers to find your website by name. Each name is linked directly to the appropriate member website.
12) How Do I Get my Own Ning Page?
Upon check-out you will be directed to our Welcome Letter which contains lots of helpful information, including how to get your Ning page started. Our Network is a tremendous promotional tool for our members.
